What is Consignment?

We are consignment, not thrift. All items must be in saleable condition to be accepted. Be sure your merchandise is in the best shape for sale. Our selection is based on our knowledge of market demand and sales experience. If we find any defects on any items we have already selected, we will donate those items.

Conditions

  • New with tags or lightly worn sells best
  • Freshly laundered, no stains (check collars and under arms especially)
  • No holes or missing buttons
  • Pressed or steamed if needed
  • Remove pet hair and “pilling”
  • Must be hung on hangers for processing
  • We must limit the amount of inventory we accept to 200 items per customers (Jewelry is not included in the 200 count)

Shirts, sweatshirts, sweaters, jackets and dresses must be on hangers. Pants and shorts can be folded in bins – no garbage bags. Hangers can be loaned in advance; we will return all your hangers and bins.

We consign Men’s and Women’s clothing and accessories, as well as in-style home decor and select quality furniture. We also take purses, shoes, jewelry, all in good condition.

Appointments

We take your items by appointment only. You may come in to the store to schedule an appointment or call the store number. We do appointments by season.

Appointment dates:

  • Beginning January 2, We accept appointments for all Spring and Summer Merchandise
  • Beginning July 1, We accept appointments for all Fall and Winter Merchandise

Items will be consigned for 90-120 days, paying the consignor 30%-50% of net sales.

Choose to Donate

Clothesline Consignment works with local organizations to help those in need. At the end of your sales period, you have the option to donate.

Buist Community Assistance Center: Provides free food and clothing to those in need, while compassionately listening to clients, educating them on available resources and sharing encouragement and prayers. Items we donate are clothing, accessories, shoes, outerwear, household linens.

Restored Refuge Designs: Provides hope and dignity to families in need by furnishing their homes with warmth, beauty, and function using new and donated goods. Items we donate include kitchenwares, furniture, bedding, and house-hold, goods.
